On March 6, 2008, John Meyer was quoted on the front page of the Chicago Tribune as an authoritative source on the Federal Sentencing Guidelines. On March 3, 2008, a new federal law became effective which reduced sentences for defendants serving terms of imprisonment for offenses involving crack cocaine. This new law is having dramatic consequences, allowing for the early release of up to 20,000 inmates. As expected, this change in the law is garnering significant interest in the news media.
